Eclair at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival
On the eve of the opening of the Festival, we are honored to announce that a number of films postproduced or restored by Eclair will be featured at the 71st Cannes Film Festival, including special screenings, heritage films and Cinéma de la Plage screenings, from May 8 to 19!
Eclair oversaw the post-production of Carlos Diegues’ The Great Mystical Circus, and Wim Wenders’ Pope Francis: A Man of His Word. Colour-graded by Karim El Katari and Christine Hiam respectively, the films are scheduled as out-of-competition special screenings.
Several classic films restored by our experts at Eclair will also be featured as part of Cannes Classics: Henri Decoin’s Beating Heart; Blow for Blow, by Marin Karmitz ; Hyenas, by Djibril Diop Mambety; Agnès Varda’s One Sings, the Other Doesn’t; and Lamb, by Paulin Soumanou Vieyra.
Finally, two major restorations of classic films by Eclair will screen at the Cinéma de la Plage during the festival: Destiny, by Youssef Chahine and The Big Blue, by Luc Besson.
Congratulations to everyone at Eclair that made these screenings possible!
